It’s time.
Today’s banner is just a brief glimpse of what I’m about to reveal, but it shows a powerful image and is quite telling when it comes to the nature of my book – especially the title. After all, what right does the pawn have to triumph over the kings and queens? Isn’t the pawn often useless, a throwaway, a plot device?
Can’t a pawn be evil and not just a victim, but instead, a villain?
I suppose you’ll have to decide on May 15th, 2018, when Villain is officially released (Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and on other platforms. Links will be available within a month or so). But until it is released, have a look at the cover – brilliantly designed by the talented Carrie Miller – which is complex and secretive while still being a simple, honest, telling image:
I will have bookmarks and magnets available for those who purchase copies and would like to help promote this collection of short, non-fiction essays. And this summer, I will be near Pittsburgh, PA, at a three-day writing and publishing convention, where both Shattered and Villain will be sold and signed. More details will come soon.
In the meantime, please let me know what you think about the cover, and how it fits with the excerpts I’ve shared thus far! I have loved all the messages and feedback I’ve been receiving lately, and am so fortunate to have thoughtful readers – who are wonderful people whom I’m lucky to know, and whom I am lucky to call friends.
