Here we are – December 20, 2017. I cannot remember the last time I posted a blog, but to be honest, my life hasn’t been that exciting. Unless people would like to hear about my fascination with two TV series (Battlestar Galactica and Lucifer – I could write a book on those two shows, though, I swear to it…) and my love of gluten-free Barilla pasta elbows with homemade tomato sauce, I’m just not all that intriguing.
So my year ends with a bit of boredom.
Then why post such a pretty, serene picture that has nothing to do with anything I have mentioned thus far?
Because in a few days, I’ll be standing on the pier where I took that picture three months ago – in St. Michaels, Maryland. My home. The place where my heart swells and my soul rests. The place that lives in me, even when I am unable to live in it (I’m getting there, though – five-year plans don’t always fail, right?). I’ll be spending the holidays on the water with my family, and despite my boredom, I know the upcoming days will be beautiful. And I hope that your holiday – whatever you celebrate and whenever you celebrate it – will be beautiful as well.
But despite the general boredom, I suppose I have news.
Way to bury the lead, right?
I’m currently working on three projects for publication:
1)Maybe I’m just putting myself back into the 80s, but I am writing a short, YA story about a girl who desires to become a doctor and will not let a boy stand in her way – even if she can’t help but feel something for him.
2)The final touches are being placed on my paranormal/horror/sci-fi piece for an upcoming anthology called The Eynes Anthology. This is a project unlike any other I’ve ever encountered, and when the time comes, I’ll have a lot to say about it.
3)The Big One – which is the follow-up to Shattered: Memoirs of an Amnesiac.
I’ve mentioned #3 before, but now, it is going to become a reality. It’s not just an abstract concept or notion; it is coming to life. And it has a publication date (TBA) and a title. A good title. A title that will make people sit up and pay attention.
So in 2018, I will begin the year with something less boring than my love of sci-fi shows and gluten-free pasta, and will reveal the title and premise.
Cliffhangers are great, aren’t they?
Happy holidays again, and I’ll see you all in 2018!
(P.S. – For those still buying and reading Shattered, thank you! I always appreciate the support. And with that amazing support, I would love some more reviews. If you’ve read it and wouldn’t mind popping over to the Amazon page to share your thoughts, you’d be granting me a wonderful, non-boring holiday gift. Thank you in advance, and I promise to repay the favor. I know a person who knows a person who… well, just trust me. I’ve not lied to you, and I never will.)
